A Little Hyundai History

When discussing the future, it's often nice to remember where we started and all of the achievements along the way. Hyundai has a unique story behind where they came from and how they made their presence in the auto industry. From the start of their life in the auto industry, they've made impact after impact on the European car market in its infancy. Since setting foot in North America starting in Canada and releasing one of the most popular models of vehicles for that year. When they shifted to the United States releasing their Hyundai Pony Excel it quickly set sales records in the first year which still stand today. Fast-forward to 2016 and they're still pushing innovation and progress as much as possible. Their focus has shifted more towards electric vehicles and more recently in 2019 adapting even further to help combat the climate issues we face today. What do all these changes mean for consumers? New safety technologies, fully electric vehicles (that means no more outrageous gas prices to deal with), and more tech for you to enjoy inside. Let's go over some of the recent changes and what is planned for the future of Hyundai vehicles.
Safety and Quality of Life Technologies

As technology continues to evolve our lives continue to get easier and easier. With Hyundai being as eager as ever they've pushed for quality-of-life features to help ease the daily burdens of driving. I'm certain some of you are eager for the day we can sit in our car, input a destination, and let the car do all the other work for us. We're not there yet, but we're getting there. Hyundai has added features like lane keep assist, collision detection, smart cruise control, blind-spot detection, and more. One of our personal favorites is the Smart Parking Assist which allows you to park or call your vehicle from a parking spot while outside of the car. This is a perfect feature for when someone parks extremely close to your vehicle leaving you little or sometimes no room to get in. You can find these features on many of the 2020 and newer Hyundai models.
Cars Meet Mobile Devices

We've all lost our keys at some point and some of us have even had our keyless entry battery die on us leaving us locked out of our vehicle or stranded. Thankfully Hyundai has thought of a perfect way to avoid this kind of situation from happening or at least make it more difficult. With the Hyundai Digital Key your worries of locking yourself out of your vehicle are in the past. As long as you've got your phone and the app installed your vehicle will recognize you and will function without a key, or key fob. As much as we all want it the Digital Key is only available on 2020 Sonatas, hopefully we can see this in other models as well in the future.
Hyundai and The Push for Electric

We've probably all heard about new electric vehicles coming out by one manufacturer or another and Hyundai is no different. With their ambitious goals, we're expecting to see a total of 11 new electric vehicle products by this manufacturer by 2030. All of these will have an abundance of technology, hopefully one of which will be the Hyundai Solar Roof which can be found on 2020 Sonata Hybrids. Hyundai has made great progress with their vehicles and how we get to experience driving. Hopefully we can see the same trend and prosperity with their shift to fully electric models coming in the future. If you'd like to check out any of the vehicles mentioned today you take a look at our stock of new and used vehicles or come on down to our dealership located in Sandy, UT.
